Advocating excellence in professional practice is one of OPFA’s objectives under its ‘Advocacy’ core business component. The objective is to encourage the application of professional accountability among those involved in the development, management, conservation and sustainability of forests and urban forests.
Strategies used to accomplish this objective are:
- To promote Member awareness of codes, standards, guidelines and issues with their application.
- To recognize excellence of Association members.
Annual meetings, seminars and the posting of codes, standards and guidelines and issues on this websites are methods by which OPFA provides information and creates awareness of a member’s responsibilities as they related to their individual practice.
The Association uses annual Awards and Recognition to recognize the achievements and excellence of its members. For more information on recognizing excellence of Association members go to Awards and Recognition.
