Recently the Ontario Forestry Association and Trees Ontario have merged to become Forests Ontario. All programs remain under the new name. The OPFA provides financial support to the Forestry Ontario to assist it to deliver its ongoing forestry careers awareness programs. Forests Ontario has several successful forestry education programs that deliver forest careers information. These include the Ontario Envirothon, Focus on Forests and a dedicated Forest Careers program.
Forests Ontario provides important careers information for teachers and students, by reaching over 10,000 students directly through their programs. All Forests Ontario forest education and career information is available to OPFA members for any individual or institutional career promotion and distribution needs.
Ontario Envirothon has a strong emphasis on career mentoring through a series of forestry and resource management workshops led by professionals in the fields of forestry and other areas of environmental management reaching thousands of high school students each year. Envirothon participation is a great indicator for future interest in a career in natural resource management.

Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF)
OPFA and CIF have a long history of working together. It is not widely known that formation of the Ontario Professional Forester Association was instigated by the Ontario sections of the Canadian Institute of Forestry. OPFA provides some financial support to the CIF so that Association members can access the CIF electronic lecture series. These e-lectures can be accessed using the following web link: Canadian Institute of Forestry - E Lecture
