OPFA Publications and Reports

OPFA has two official publications, and one outside bulletin available for its members.  See below for Other Reports on OPFA activities.

The Professional Forester Newsletter

The Professional Forester is published quarterly in March, June, September and December by and for members of the Association, as well as those interested in the profession of forestry in Ontario.  Issues of The Professional Forester are available electronically.

OPFA Annual Reports

Annually, Council submits to the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry a report on the business and affairs of the Association.  Contained in the report are minutes from the previous Annual General Meeting, committee reports and financial statements.  This report is available to Association members and the public.

Grey Area Bulletins

Although, not an OPFA publication, the Grey Area Bulletins by Steinecke, Maciura, LeBlanc, a law firm practising in the field of professional regulation, are recommended reading for Association members.  These bulletins are a commentary on legal issues affecting professional regulation.

Other Reports:

Fair Registration Practices Report is an annual summary (by calendar year) of OPFA registration activities and changes.  The report is required by the Fair Access to Regulated Professions and Compulsory Trades Act (FARPACTA).  These reports are available to Association members and the public, and are also posted on the Office of the Fairness Commissioner (Ontario) website.
